Fingerlakes Snowmobile Club Members

We have rented Bunkhouse at the YMCA Camp Gorham in Eagle Bay, for the rest of the season (thru April 1, 2008), for the exclusive use of our club members. Bunkhouse lodging is free to all club members -- now read the fine print.
The 7 room bunkhouse can sleep up to 60 people. Each room sleeps between 6 and 14 people in bunk beds. There are 2 large bathrooms with showers (girls upstairs and boys downstairs). Two of the rooms have a stove and utensils. For that reason, these will be shared by everyone staying in the bunkhouse at the time. Think of them as a great meeting place to have coffee and make meals together. Be sure to clean up after use.

The entire bunkhouse is for our members.
Please e-mail the webmaster@fingerlakessnowmobileclub.org with arrival and departure dates and the names of the members in your party.
There will also be a sign up sheet in Room #7. Everyone must sign in upon arrival and out upon departure. Our membership list will be displayed so if you see persons in a room that you do not think should be there, ask them for their membership card or name and look them up to make sure they are members.
.
You may have to share rooms with other members if all the rooms are full but the rooms are very large. Remember, we are having fun doing what we love....

There are hundreds of miles of trails that you can ride. To check snow conditions go to: www.absolutesnowmobile.com
The camp has a trail through the woods that connects to Trail #10. Turning left you will enter the Old Forge Trail system. You must have a trail permit.
Turn right and it will lead you to Big Moose and to Stillwater and points beyond. You will not need a trail permit. There will be trail maps in Room #7.

This is an awesome opportunity for us as a club to finally be able to have a place to ride and stay this year, with the lack of snow in our area. Bring the family for great cross country skiing, hiking, and playing in the snow. There are 3 restaurants all within 3 miles from camp: Big Moose Inn, Glenmore and Way Back Inn.

Directions are simple N.Y.S. Thruway east to exit 31 and head north on Route 8&12 towards Old Forge. Follow the signs to Old Forge and go through the village, still on 8 & 12, to Eagle Bay (approx. 5 miles). Just past Big Moose Yamaha, turn left onto Big Moose Rd and look for YMCA Camp Gorham sign. Turn left on Darts Lake Rd which ends in the camp. You will see the bunkhouse just before the barn on right past camp office. Travel time 3 hours 15 min to camp and there is always snow.

Sled and trailer parking is available in the big field just past the bunkhouse. Cars and sleds off the trailer can be parked down below or on top in the field. The bunkhouse has 2 entrances, one from the top and stairs from the bottom.

What to bring:
Sleeping bags, pillows, bedding for bunk beds
Towels, slippers, soap, shampoo, etc.
Food, drinks and don't forget the coffee and snacks
Bring a cooler for your food,
Games, cards, happy stuff, and a great attitude.
Also don't forget your sled or skis.
